Sitter Sessions, what are they?

I love sitter sessions! It’s such a wonderful milestone to capture of your baby.  However,  it did occur to me, not everyone would know what a ‘sitter’ session is.

I like to call mine ‘sit up and giggles’ sessions, as this is the photos we are hoping to capture.  These are booked in when baby is sitting unaided, around 6-9 months.  Babies are usually full of huge smiles, and we can pop them into different props.

Most my newborn clients upgrade to a Watch Me Grow session, which includes a newborn, sitter and 1st birthday session.  This is a great opportunity to get the baby in the same props they were photographed in as a newborn.

The ‘sit up and giggles’ sessions last for around an hour, but I am very much baby-led.  We encourage you to bring along any outfit you have that’s a favourite, we also supply some beautiful outfits.  These session can include any siblings, which may now be easier as baby doesn’t need their sibling to support them.

My ‘sitter’ sessions are just £35 and include your favourite images professionally printed as a 7×5.

Next weeks blog will be on Family Portraits, Fife Newborn Photographer Kirsty from Bella Photography has some great tips on what to wear for these sessions.
