If you are here, chances are you are considering a newborn photoshoot at my studio in Tardebigge, Bromsgrove for your little one arriving in 2023… and maybe even a maternity photoshoot to capture your beautiful baby bump!
One of the questions I get more often from mums-to-be is when is the best time to book a Newborn Photoshoot and, when booking in advance, what happens if baby is early or late.
WHEN TO BOOK YOUR NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT
The short answer is: as early as possible during your pregnancy and after your 20 weeks scan.
The main reason for booking in advance is that it gives us plenty of time to work on the styling of your session and to get everything ready to capture beautiful images you will love forever. After all, a Newborn Photoshoot is a once in a lifetime occasion!
Additionally, while I will always try to find a way to welcome your beautiful family into the studio, you need to know that the best time to photograph your little one is when they are under 3 weeks of age and certain newborn poses are only possible at that age and even a few days can make a big difference.
For this reason, securing your newborn photoshoot whilst still pregnant guarantees your session WILL take place at the right time as we will reserve the studio for you!
There is another advantage when booking in advance: you lock your prices in!

As the end of 2022 approaches, I encourage everyone to secure your 2023 session as they can do so at our current prices – which is so important when the cost of pretty much everything is going up!
BUT WHAT IF BABY IS LATE?
There is absolutely no risk.
We all know that babies are unpredictable, and managing my calendar around your little one is an art I have now mastered as a Newborn Photographer!
In other words, you don’t need to worry about baby being early or late, because we will set the actual date of the session when baby arrives. To do so, we limit the number of bookings we take every week so we can be flexible and make sure we can capture those precious early weeks of your baby’s life.
WHAT ABOUT MATERNITY SESSIONS?
The best time for a maternity shoot is between 30-35 weeks, when your pregnancy bump will be lovely and round, and our sessions start at only £125 – which includes 3 digital images!
We also offer a Bespoke Maternity Experience, if you love the idea of a bigger gallery and a little more time to try different outfits.
As for your Newborn Session, booking your appointment a little in advance helps us prepare and have a little more time to work on the styling of the session… which is so important as there is no going back to have these photographs taken again!
