My wonderful friend and sister-in-law bought me a beautiful plaque with ‘Living the dream’ on for the new studio – it was the first thing I put up when I first moved in and it really is true.
I first became a photographer at the age of 19 and never believed I would be lucky enough to run my own studio.
Business is not my strong point (hence why I’m the creative type) but to do the thing I love (the photography bit) I needed to get a better understanding of the business bit.
It’s been a really big learning curve in the last couple of years and I’ve loved it and now I get to go to my own studio every day and ‘live that dream’
I’m proud of what I have achieved but strive to be better. I think I can always improve and widen my photography skills. I currently specialise in newborn’s and babies but I’m widening my skills to family portraiture.
I’ve just achieved my licentiate with The National Photographic Society, which shows your work is to a high professional standard. My next goal is to enter a few of the photographer’s society’s competitions and get a highly commended on my portrait images.
